Our regular prenatal check-up went great today. It was a standard appointment checking my weight, blood pressure, fundal height, fetal heartbeat, etc. I sneezed yesterday and now I can barely lift my right arm and my ribs hurt so badly. Come to find out, that sneeze bruised my rib(s) according to my OB. Great! It will take a while to heal completely, but will hopefully start to feel somewhat better in the next few days.
Today my OB recommended we induce 2 weeks early and take Molly at 38 weeks due to our previous fetal demise with Luke and not knowing exactly what caused it. She said that the last 2 weeks are for the baby to put on fat and there is no development after 38 weeks so the additional time in the womb is not worth the risk of something happening. I'm not crazy about being induced, but I also agree that the additional risk is not worth it and I want Molly out healthy and safe so I'm ok with my OB's recommendation. Of course scheduling an induction would also be easier on everyone's schedule and my Mom can schedule her airfare now. My OB said to ask my MFM specialist at my next appointment to see if he still agrees in delivering early based on Molly's current measurements. I see Dr. Kirshon on Tuesday so we will know something shortly. Eeeeekkkkk, so exciting!!!
